Doctors told Holmes he won't be able to start training again until April, and he is noncommittal on being ready for training camp in August. "I've got another surgery in February. That's all I know," said Holmes, who visited the Jets' facility for the first time since being placed on the injured reserve.
Walking in a large black walking boot, Holmes made his first public remarks since his season ended. Holmes has been home in Florida recovering with his family, reading more books, and spending more time with his children. Last Friday was group picture day with the team.
"I really miss being here," Holmes said.
Holmes had played 20 years without having an injury this serious. "I knew the minute I didn't get off the ground that my season was over," he said. Holmes had surgery two weeks later and was placed on the IR.
